Krishna Dholakia

Krishna is a registered dietitian, certified diabetes educator, health coach, and 500-hr certified yoga instructor.  She has extensive training in preventive health and holds a master’s degree in clinical nutrition. Krishna has worked in the health and wellness field for over 13 years. She has helped many individuals improve their health, and the quality of their lives by focusing on changing lifestyle behaviors in the areas of nutrition, stress management, mindfulness, yoga and movement. Krishna enjoys working with people and believes that good health and self-care should be accessible and enjoyed by everyone. She has participated in Mindful Harlem’s 8-Week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course lead by Jayne Gumpel, is a member of Mindful Harlem’s “drop in and sit” community, and teaches yoga on Wednesday nights at Harlem Yoga. The act of nourishing ourselves is a beautiful thing. Food not only satisfies us physically, but emotionally as well. We use food and eating as a way to socialize, form and strengthen bonds with family and friends, to celebrate events, and to fuel us for activity and everyday life. Many situations in life can throw us off track, making it hard for us to follow a self-care plan that feels right for us.

This 4 series workshop is designed to help you focus on finding a self-care plan that is harmonious for your life. Topics to be covered in the workshop include: nutrition, the biomechanics of stress, mindfulness, sleep, and movement. We will discuss what a healthy nutrition plan consists of, ideas for meal planning, touch lightly on Ayurveda, cravings and emotional eating, the benefits of mindfulness, and movement.
